Winterlicious tag

Maybe I'm late but I kind of promised to Taya that I would do this tag when I came home. Now I'm here I don't have and excuse for not doing it.

1. Favorite Winter Nail Polish?

I don't use it often because I don't want to use it up, but it's my favorite red from the stash.

2. Favorite Winter lip product?

I'm not sure if I like it that much but it's my only lipbalm at the moment so I use it

3. Most worn Winter clothing piece?
My winter coat, it keeps me warm and looks smart which is nice for this time of year

4. Most worn Winter accessory?
Scarf, this year it's blue with flowers, you can see it on the picture in one of the older posts.

5. Favorite winter scent/candle?
I don't burn candles, but I do like vanilla, if I'm talking about perfumes I'm into Chanel no 5 these past days

6. Favorite Winter beverage?
Hot chocolate with whipped cream, although I didn't drink it much so far, well there are at least two months left for that :)

7. All time favorite Christmas/Holiday movie?
I'm going to be cheesy here and say The Holiday

8. Favorite Christmas/Holiday song?
This year Michael Buble - Mis Deseos/Feliz Navidad

9. Favorite Holiday food/treat?
Mom always bakes chocolate brownies this time of year so that would be it :)

We didn't decorate a tree this year so I went out and about and found this one that I like

11. What's at the top of your Christmas list?
Well Christmas is over and I didn't have a list. It's kind of too early to start the next one ^_^

I'll blue everything

It's the end of the year so everybody is compiling favorites lists, I don't have all my nail polish with me so I won't do that but I will show you one of my favorite polishes this year. It's one of the newer additions but I love it already it's Catrice It's all I can blue nail polish.

This is two coats without top coat and in the shade. Looks a little lighter than in real life and it wouldn't hurt if I added third coat for the pictures as you can see all the flaws.

The picture in the setting sun, but maybe the color is a little bit more real. You get standard 10 mL and new rounder and wide brush. Dries quickly, consistency is not perfect but it's ok and can be worked with. If it was much worse I would still adore it just because of the color. It's in the same family as H&M Blue my mind but this one is a little lighter.

And this is how I wore it in October, strange hand position (my right hand doesn't know how to pose) but just so you can see it in true sun, even though camera doesn't capture it correctly. If Catrice even tries to discontinue this shade I will organize a protest ^_^  Next year I know it will be my go to shade for the summer. If you don't have it get it I assure you that you need it :D

Lavender dream

I hope you had a nice celebration and that you didn't overeat on Christmas :) I had some yummy stuff and I went to see the Hobbit but this time in 2D and I loved it again :) So it was a nice Christmas. Today I have a swatch from before the shortening of them all. It's Manhattan 67S, it's a lovely lavender light purple.

Two coats in the shade, without top coat. It's slightly streaky but everything evens out with the second coat. It would be better if I had a top coat to smooth everything out but I didn't wear it anywhere so it's ok.

And the picture in the sun, color is accurate but maybe just it has a little more hint of blue. It dries quickly and as I can remember it doesn't chip too fast.

And an additional Dubrovnik sunset :) I hope you have a lovely day :)

Christmas 2012

And to celebrate appropriately named polish from Essence which is called Happy Holiday

This is I think from the winter 2009 collection named All I want. I've been meaning to swatch it for literally years but this is it's first appearance. First picture is in the shade, two coats with top coat.

Second one is in the sun

And the last one is with flash. It's not the typical Christmas color I think it's more suited for autumn but just for the name I wanted to wear it today :) I hope you haven't eaten too much and that you enjoy with your family and friends as I do :*

It rose to the occasion

Smart girls get more have their Christmas collection in the stores now and I've picked up two polishes from it. Today I'm showing you the first one and it's number 130. This is a rose gold color overall, but if you look closely it's like silver foil in rose base with tiny red spots.

Here you can see the best those red spots. First two pictures are three coats with top coat in natural lightning. I think that the first one is the most color accurate.

There is two things I don't like about this polish, it's quite sheer hence the three coats. It chips pretty fast and in big chunks :/ , but I really like the color. It's very appropriate for this time of year if you want something festive and pretty on your nails but still have them toned down for work for example.

This one is in the artificial light. The bottles are small and you 5,5 mL for 11,90 kn. The brush is standard but small according to the bottle size.

And this is just one coat over Catrice Nude in artificial lightning. I like it this way it solves the problem of sheerness you use less polish and I hope it will help a little with the chipping I didn't leave it long enough to know. My busy time continues but not for much longer, hope you don't have to work on Monday and that you have started to enjoy the holidays :)

Glitter and light

I'm alive but very busy these days so this is just a very quick one.

Holiday spirit maybe? Just a hint :)

Holidays are the best time for glitter so a bright one, Essence Circus Confetti

and a dark one, this is just Revlon Facets of fuchsia over a black. I know you've already seen these polishes but it doesn't hurt one more time. Byeeeee

Dark green

Color  you won't see me wearing very often but somehow I like it. I bought it because it was on really good sale and I've decided to try it because I like the golden shimmer in it. It's S-he 340 and I think it might be discontinued (hence the sale). It's a dark green with golden shimmer.

In natural lightning, two coats with top coat. Formula is ok but you need to be careful it's pretty runny like the rest of the new S-he formulas.

Different angle still natural lightning.

Artificial lightning and you can see the shimmer slightly better.

And this one is with flash, the color is washed out but you can see the shimmer very nicely. I am not a fan of S-he formula, but they are cheap and have some nice colors. You get 10 mL in the bottles and they dry pretty quickly. My nails are still breaking and I don't like it one bit so it seems that shorties are meant for me these holidays :/ I still haven't done any Christmasy manicures but I'll try to do that soon ^_^

Here? Greyt, there?

Shorties nubbins what shall I do with you? My nails have been breaking and peeling these days more than usual I think I have the suspect but I have to change my nail care up a little to see if I'm right. So something that doesn't attract too much attention to the nails but it still isn't boring to look at. And polish that fulfilled all that needs today is Essence Grey-t to be here, another one of those that I bought  from the regular range.

First pic is in the artificial light, three coats with top coat on. You don't necessarily need 3 two are enough I just wasn't careful in some places. I've already written about the brush and formulation of this new range and this polish is no exception to that.

In natural lightning also with top coat. It's light grey with pink duochrome shimmer that in some lightnings switches to yellow, it the bottle you can even see some green but I've never seen it on the nails.

Another one in natural lightning so you can see the shimmer a little better :) I don't have many things about this polish other that it's nice to wear and it can be interesting base for nail art.

I've thought about not including this picture because I played with color editing and I try to avoid that, maybe I shouldn't? How do you like this polish? Have you already bought it or you are thinking about it :)

My preciousss

Where to begin, where to begin? I guess with nails. As you probably know this is The Hobbit related post that I promised yesterday, this is my manicure and make up that I wore to the cinema. As always probably I think I should start with the mani.

I could't decide on one polish/combo that I wanted to wear so skittle manicure is the best option in that case . Jessica Disco diva on the thumb (silver holo), Milani Blue flash on the pointer, Lacquistry Honeycomb on the middle, Flormar 431 with College hero (silver glitter) on the ring finger and Essence Style for summer nights with LA Girl Jostle on the pinky finger

And the same in artificial light. A little bit about the movie, if you expect the grandiosity of LOTR you might be disappointed, Hobbit is a book for children and it's interpretation is just different. All the great landscape and beautiful places like the Shire and Rivendell are there and looking as beautiful as always. This is for me just an introduction and when the film ended it made me want more, even after 3 hours of sitting.

Now the make up, unfortunately it was already dark when I finished so the pictures are made in artificial light and that makes them not completely true to life. With my hooded eyes I don't usually even try to do any kinds of flicks or other fancy stuff with eyeliners. But this is my version of double eye liner. As a base all over the lid I first put a silver eyeshadow.

Here is a close up of my right eye, I just did the eyeliner on my outer part of the eye so it doesn't make them appear too close. First I did the turquoise  line and then filled it with black. The lines aren't symmetrical on both eyes but then again neither are my eyes.

Full face picture so you can see how it looks with the eyes open.

This last picture is with flash so you can try to see the blush which likes to hide these days obviously and the lips were a little lighter. I ended up happy with everything, my make up, manicure and the film. Now I'm just thinking about when will I go to watch it again, this time in 2D 'cause 3D just bothers me with the glasses and subtitles in your face.

Just a ticket, seat number and a roll with the badges that we got :)  Far over the misty mountains cold, to dungeons deep and caverns old...

Hobbit day :D

For those of you who haven't seen it I've made a Facebook page  and I would be very glad if you checked it out :D Today is just a little preview, probably everybody knows that I'm going to watch The Hobbit tonight and I'm so very excited.

These are the earrings I'm going to wear, I got them as a graduation present and they have an elvish feel for me :)

And the make up and nail polish I plan to use if everything goes right and I hope I'll have some pictures to show you how it came out. Usually when I plan things it rarely goes right but I hope this time it does :D If you are going to see Hobbit tonight I hope you are as excited as I am :D

Celestial sky

I've had this one in my stash for a while and I'm not sure if it's still available to buy I've seen it around so maybe you can still find it somewhere. It's from the first Deborah Milano Pret a porter collection and it's called Celestial sky with number 28 attached to it.

No top coat, natural lightning, three coats on all pictures. Slightly thinner consistency but you could get away with two if you are careful enough.

Also without top coat but I wanted to show you little silver particles that hide inside this polish and make it so interesting. It also has some kind of depth with fine small blue shimmer which comes out when light shines on it.

And final picture is in the natural lightning with top coat to make it dry quicker and give it some extra shine :) Downside of these is that there is only 4,5 mL in the bottle, but for those who collect colors and don't use up their bottles ever, this one is a nice addition :) I know that many are grumpy about Monday but I hope this one treats you kindly :)

Another franken

A while ago I mixed this one up,  I had leftovers from Catrice Sold out forever and I sea you, added with some white and no name green this is what came out.

Picture under artificial light with top coat. It's light green with some green shimmer that doesn't show up too much on the nails.

Here it is in natural lightning without top coat. I like when I can use up the leftovers of a nail polish. This is the current length of my nails first one broke and I filed them and then it broke another time it's really annoying.

And this is the current state of the manicure and the outside. Everything is snowed up and it's still falling. I am hoping that it won't last too long, I just need a little pause until I escape and then those who want to can have a white Christmas.

And a random picture I like to think of it as a mix of autumn and winter. I hope you don't have to go anywhere and that you can enjoy the warmth of your home this weekend :)

This is who I am

Everybody is doing these posts these last few days so I wanted to do one. When I was preparing for it I realized that I would have too many pictures (more than 40) so I've just included 4 in the post and the rest you can see in this weheartit set that I made. If you have a weheart it account let me know I'd love to check it out.

All of the pictures are from Andthatswhoiam tumblr page.

My top 5 lipsticks for winter

I show you my nails all the time, so I wanted to show you some other things that I'm wearing and I have lots of love for lipsticks and I never show you any of them. So today I want to show you which 5 lipsticks I'm going to wear a lot this winter and some are my long time favorites. On the left are the pictures in the shade and on the right are pictures in the sun. All lipsticks are applied directly from the tube.

Like this one this is Catrice Spanish red, discontinued for a long time but I'm sure you can find something similar. This is a red lip that's appropriate any time of the year but it's always my go to lipstick for Christmas.

This is Catrice Colour bomb from Revoltaire LE which you can find in Kozmo stores currently. It's a new one for me but it's a darker coral which substitutes my light coral lipstick that I wore all summer long. It's a matte lipstick but it's comfortable to wear and it's not especially drying. You do have to have really smooth lips (which I kind of don't in this picture) or it will accentuate any flakieness or dryness.

I always have to have a nice brighter pink lipstick in my make up bag, so winter favorite is Catrice Pinkadilly circuss from the regular line, and it's nice, creamy and comfortable on the lips. It can be worn sheer or full one it always looks good.

Everybody is crazy about berry shades this season and my favorite berry is Catrice Tell me a berry-tale. This one also has a great formula as Pinkadilly circuss. When sheer it gives my lips the "just bitten" look.

And final favorite is Essence Berry me home, from Home sweet home LE. I chose this as a lighter berry color which you can quickly apply and it's really long lasting so it's suitable choice for the day, when you want bolder lips during the day but don't have the time to reapply it constantly.
Which are your favorite lipsticks for this winter? Do you have any of these and how do you like them? I haven't included any nude lipstick because I still haven't found my favorite but I think this list is pretty complete even without it because I wear lot's of bolder colors in the winter :)
